Reading * comprehension skills/strategies such as using background
knowledge or"schema", picture clues, inferencing, asking
questions, and visualizing
* build fluency and expression through rereading
* use of various reading startegies: visual, meaning, structure
Spelling * short vowels and digraph words
Writing * generate ideas about a topic and write about it
Grammar * concept of a sentence, word order, kinds of sentences,
capitalization and end marks
Math
* Number Sense * counting
* count on strategy
* comparing numbers using more or less
* concept of time using calendar
* place value with tens and ones
* addition
